History

Located at the Amyndeon, Florina region of northwest Greece, Alpha Estate was founded in 1997 by the experienced viticulturist Makis Mavridis and chemist-oenologist Angelos Iatridis. The eco-friendly nature of Alpha Estate’s production processes are based on the latest advancements in international viticultural practices. Alpha Estate is serving to elevate Greek wines beyond their nascent Greek wine category and spearheading a renaissance of wine development in Greece.

The Wine

Deep ruby in colour, the Alpha Estate Axia Red is a truly exceptional wine crafted from a blend of Syrah (50%) and Xinomavro (50%) grapes. Originating from the Amyndeon, Florina region of northwest Greece, the Axia is a multiple-award winning wine that is 100% estate-grown using certified viticultural processes.

Tasting Notes

The Alpha Axia red is a rich, fruity and elegant Syrah-Xinomavro blend. One can detect hints of plums, spices and blueberries. A full-bodied red wine with a firm tannic grip. Enjoy with meat dishes or pizza.
