Ignacia Marin Old Vine Garnacha 2010

History

Loose, fairly stony soils, with a Mediterranean climate but also with an important thermal variation between night and day, healthy aeration and many hours of sunlight, all of which guarantees a correct ripening of the grapes. We only use noble varieties, with a perfect production-quality ratio and developing an integral and ecological form of agriculture out of respect for nature and to the benefit of healthy grapes. The wineyards are located in the town of Encinacorba and Cariñena, and we are thus able to make use of the microclimates to make perfectly adapted varieties. Tempranillo, Cariñena, Garnacha, Cabernet and Merlot constitute the base of our excellent wines and, in some cases, of our famous rosés.

The Wine

You never imagined finding a wine like this. In the vineyard “Marin” grow wines of 80 year old Garnacha with a careful and rigorous hand selected vintage, always before dawn. The resulting achievement is one of Ignacio’s most precious wines, the Marin Old Vine Garnacha.

Tasting Notes

Its intense cherry red and purple shades with its fine aromas of red fruits and background hints of vanilla from the wood, allowing one to imagine its ageing in French oak barrels. The wine pairs is well with spicy lamb, chicken with stir-fried tomato sauce, onion and herbs. Nice and unique with chicken with baked potatoes and mushroom covered by a truffle sauce. Lovely with pasta, rice and cheese.
