A marvellous Cotes du Rhone Villages made from Grenache 50 %, Syrah 30 %, Carignan 20 %, this wine is deep ruby with an intense nose of ripe red fruit, including berries, wild strawberries and a hint of pepper. Mellow tannins, fruity and spicy notes, long and fleshy on the palate. A powerful, generous and supple wine.
This approachably priced little beauty is squat and powerful with plenty of cherry fruit and freshly ground pepper. Pair with braised beef or pepper steaks. (VINTAGES panel, June 2016)

Château d’Aigueville is located near the village of Uchaux in the Côtes du Rhône. The vineyard has a high proportion of pebbles, and the secondary soils are siliceous or clay-limestones. The winery was established by the Coulon brothers, owners of Domaine de Beaurenard in nearby Châteauneuf-du-Pape, but the winemaker is now Pierre Jhean of the highly respected Henri de Villamont winery in Burgundy.
