La Ferme Du Mont Le Ponnant Cotes Du Rhone Villages 2015

The Wine

“Exceptional vintage : smoothness, maturity, volume on the palate, fluidity in a hyper-concentration. La Ferme du Mont have centred on the keeping of it burgundy spirit in the winemaking to restitute in the final the airy touch needed by this historic vintage to delight
the connoisseurs. This wine is natural and unfiltered which is why a depot may
form; it is the guarantee of our craftsman and respectful work.”

Tasting Notes

“Offering more depth and richness, with tons of black raspberry, graphite, leather and pepper, the 2015 Côtes du Rhône Villages Le Ponnant (60/40 Grenache and Syrah) is medium to full-bodied, has beautiful purity, fine tannin and a great finish. It has a touch of modern flair, but everything is perfectly balanced and it has serious potential.” – (89-91 points)Jeb Dunnuck, eRobertParker.com

The Winery

The star winemaker of La Ferme du Mont, Stephane Vedeau, is a favourite of heavyweight American critic Robert Parker. La Ferme du Mont produces a range of reds made from the traditional Rhone blend of Grenache and Syrah. The vineyard contains two distinct soil types: broken limestone and a bed of red clay and Jurassic limestone.
